UCLA has NO CLASS!

(UC)LA Times reporter Diane Pucin quoted loser men's water polo coach, UCLA Coach Adam Wright, in this morning's article, "USC makes it five straight NCAA titles in men's water polo."  Coach Wright protested, "The rhythm of the game can be controlled not only by the player but also by people on the outside."

Will the PAC-12 or MPSF fine Coach Wright for criticizing the referees?

What a CLASSLESS statement!  What a BELLY-ACHE!

In Pucin's attempt to fuel a controversy, all she did was prove that "UCLA has NO CLASS!"

Congratulations to the USC Men's Water Polo Team on its unprecedented NCAA FIVE-PEAT Championships!

Hooray for the Unbiased Orange County Register!

USC's Men's Water Polo Team won the MPSF Championship this past weekend at USC's McDonald Swim Stadium.  The Orange County Register's Sports Reporter Dan Albano covered the tournament and wrote an article about USC's victory.

Where was a (UC)LA Times article about the victory?  NO WHERE!  There was no coverage of the four-peat NCAA Champion USC Trojans.

If the Bruins had won the tournament, there would have been an article and a picture.

When will the BIAS ever end?

I was RIGHT!

Wednesday's 11/7/2012 (UC)LA Times Sports front page featured USC's fabulous receiver and kick returner Marqise Lee.  There was a 3x5 BLACK and WHITE picture of Marqise.  I thought to myself, just wait, tomorrow's (UC)LA Times Sports front page will feature a large COLOR picture of UCLA's Brett Hundley.

This morning there was a LARGE 6x6 COLOR picture of Bruins Brett Hundley and Jonathan Franklin on the front page of the (UC)LA Times Sports page.

I was RIGHT!

Will the (UC)LA Times BIAS for UCLA over USC ever end?

What Do They Have in COMMON?

What do Kansas State, Central Michigan, Clemson, Notre Dame and LOSER UCLA all have in COMMON in today's sports page?

All of them received COLOR pictures "inside" the (UC)LA Times!

Why is VICTORIUS USC different?

The Trojans only received BLACK and WHITE pictures "inside" the (UC)LA Times!

When will the BIAS for UCLA over USC ever end?

It's as Simple as BLACK and WHITE!!!!

The (UC)LA Times is at it again!

This morning's sports section front page featured a large COLOR picture of Bruin Brett Hundley and a two page Bill Plaschke article with another picture of Hundley on page C6.

What is BLACK and WHITE?

USC's Curtis McNeal gets a small BLACK and WHITE picture and mention on page C7.

Four days in a row for the (UC)LA Times blatantly featuring UCLA over USC!!!!

When will the BIAS ever end?

Just WHO Really Plays in the City of Los Angeles?

Leaving New York City after seeing USC beat Syracuse 42-29, I bought a New York Times.  There was little coverage about the USC victory.  That's to be expected in New York City.

Arriving home, I opened up the Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012 (UC)LA Times sports page.  Top billing and larger color pictures went to UCLA's victory over Nebraska.  USC's victory was relegated to the bottom of the front page with a smaller color picture.

USC resides and plays in the city of Los Angeles.  UCLA does not!

Then, in Monday's, Sept. 10th sports page, UCLA got a picture with its article on C8, USC got NO picture.

Now, in Tuesday's, Sept 11th sports page, Bruin Jonathan Franklin has a front page color picture, two page article and another color picture on page C7.  Trojan Matt Barkley is relegated to a smaller black and white picture on page C6.

When will the (UC)LA Times sports page BIAS for UCLA over USC ever end?

Just WHO is Steve Johnson?

(UC)LA Times writer Diane Pucin surely doesn't know!  Her article this morning, entitled "Williams advances to fourth round" included five paragraphs about a 19 year old from Nebraska named Jack Sock.  This player received a wild card into the  main draw, and he lost to Nicolas Almagro in the U.S. Open yesterday.

What about USC's Steve Johnson?  Just WHO is Steve Johnson?  Steve is a USC Men's Tennis Team alumnus who just graduated in May 2012.  Steve helped USC win FOUR NCAA National Tennis Championships in a row!  Steve just won back-t-back NCAA Single titiles!  Steve is a local star from Orange.

Steve is still competing in the U.S. Open!  He will be competing against Richard Gasquet (13) in the Grandstand today.

Why doesn't Diane Pucin know WHO Steve Johnson is?  She would know, if Steve was a Bruin.  But he is a TROJAN!

UCLA 13 and USC ZERO!

The (UC)LA Times Sports Page has published five front page color or black and white pictures of thirteen UCLA football players since August 2, 2012.

The Bruins that have graced page one are Tevin McDonald, Brett Hundley (twice), seven unidentified Bruins sitting in plastic trash cans, Kevin Prince, Jonathan Franklin and Cade McNown.

How many front page pictures of any USC football players have been on the (UC)LA Times Sports Page one since August 2, 2012?

NONE!

When will the bias for UCLA over USC ever end?

Cam Newton.... A Trojan?

USC started its football training camp this morning.  (UC)LA Times reporter Gary Kleins's article, entitled "Potential hitches in USC's giddy-up" was published on the front page of the sports section.  Next to the article, where, a color picture of Robert Woods should have been, was a large COLOR picture of Cam Newton!

Where was the picture of All-American Robert Woods?  Buried (in black and white) on page C4.

Two days before the Bruins began their football training camp, the (UC)LA Times published a COLOR picture of Tevin McDonald (8/2/12) and then a COLOR picture of Brett Hundley (8/4/12) on the front page with their articles!

When will the (UC)LA Times BIAS for UCLA over USC ever end?

Her Name is Amy!

(UC)LA Times reporter Kevin Baxter wrote an article this morning about the USA Women's Olympic Soccer Team.  The article entitled, "They seek a closing kick" was accompanied by a large color picture of three Olympic teammates.  Mr. Baxter named one player as Amy LePeilbet and the other two as (unknown) teammates.

A reporter who works for a Los Angeles newspaper did not recognize nor identify a former, local collegiate star in his picture, who helped her university win its first NCAA Women's Soccer title!

The Olympic teammate in the middle of the color picture is Amy Rodriguez!  She played soccer at USC in 2005-2008.  Her 2007 team won the Pac-10's first women's soccer NCAA title!  Amy won a Soccer Olympic Gold Medal in Beijing in 2008!

Why doesn't a (UC)LA Times reporter recognize a Los Angeles soccer star?

Because she is a Trojan, not a Bruin!

NCAA hammer doesn't nail it

(UC)LA Times reporter Chris Dufresne's title of his article this morning, "NCAA hammer doesn't nail it" is a misnomer.  The NCAA did "NAIL" USC with extreme sanctions.....not befitting the infraction.

Mr. Dufresne actually displayed some sympathy (too little, too late) for the Trojans in his article when he wrote, "People at USC are left to think:  So what Penn State did was only twice as bad as Reggie Bush's parents living rent-free in a condo?"

Why didn't the (UC)LA Times criticize the unfair extremity of the sanctions against USC two years ago?

They are anti-USC!

STRIKE THREE, You're OUT, (UC)LA Times!!!

Another lengthy article with a large headline written by reporter Gary Klein about the UCLA Baseball Team's victory last night over TCU, was published by the (UC)LA Times in this morning edition.  I'm amazed that there was no picture!

So, the Bruins won their Super Regional.  So, they are at least one of the top eight collegiate baseball teams in the nation this year.  So What!

The USC Men's Tennis Team (2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012) and the USC Men's Water Polo Team (2008. 2009, 2010, and 2011) were FIRST in the nation for FOUR consecutive years when they both won four NCAA titles in a row! The (UC)LA Times never wrote any lengthy articles or published any pictures of the Trojan's amazing accomplishments.

STRIKE THREE, You're OUT, (UC)LA Times!!!

When will your BIAS for UCLA over USC ever end?

STRIKE TWO on you, (UC)LA Times!!

Your beloved Bruins won the first game of their baseball super regional last night.  They get a 5 x 4 inch picture and lengthy article written by Gary Klein.  It's not even the College World Series yet!

USC's Men's Tennis Team won their fourth NCAA Team Title in a row on May 22, 2012.  They never rated a single picture in four years in the (UC)LA Times!

STRIKE TWO on you, (UC)LA Times!!

When will your BIAS for UCLA over USC ever end?

Friday, June 8, 2012

STRIKE ONE on you, (UC)LA Times!

This morning's (UC)LA Times college baseball article by reporter Gary Klein is entitled, "UCLA's Brown delivers from all over the diamond."  This one article about the Bruin Baseball Team is longer than all four "ETC." articles in total that the (UC)LA Times has written about USC over the span of four years.  In those four years, the USC Men's Tennis Team has won four consecutive NCAA titles.

STRIKE ONE on you, (UC)LA Times for your continual BIAS for UCLA over USC!

When will they ever strike out?

Men's Golf and Baseball, Too!

USC Men's Tennis won their fourth NCAA Championship in a row on May 22, 2012.  Then, USC Senior Steve Johnson won his back-to-back NCAA Individual Title when he won his 72nd consecutive singles match on May 28, 2012.  The (UC)LA Times merely mentioned these two accomplishments with small articles and headlines in "THE DAY IN SPORTS" section.  NO PICTURES anywhere!

In Thursday's May 31, 2012 sports page, the (UC)LA Times had two feature articles about their beloved UCLA Bruins.

"SIDE BENEFITS" by Eric Sondheimer had a picture and lengthy article about UCLA reliever David Berg.  "THE DAY IN SPORTS" had a BIG headline and article about the UCLA Men's Golf Team, who was in second place in the NCAA tournament.  That headline and article was bigger and longer than the USC Men's Tennis article.

Men' Golf and Baseball, Too!

When will the (UC)LA Times BIAS for UCLA over USC ever end?

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

YES! and NO!

YES!  (UC)LA Times sportswriter, Gary Klein, actually wrote an article with a TITLE about USC's ace tennis player Steve Johnson.  Steve and his teammates just won a fourth NCAA Men's Tennis Team Title in a row!  Steve just won his back-to-back Men's NCAA Singles Title yesterday, when he won 72 consecutive singles matches.  An NCAA first!

NO!  Where is a PICTURE of the USC Men's Tennis Team?  Where is a PICTURE of Steve?

WHY?  The (UC)LA Times has featured UCLA golfer Patrick Cantlay in several articles with pictures.  He has not won any titles this year!  There have been ZERO feature articles and pictures for USC's Steve Johnson!

When will the (UC)LA Times BIAS for UCLA over USC ever end?

Monday, May 28, 2012

NO! and NO!

USC Senior, Steve Johnson, won the NCAA Men's Singles Championship this morning.  He finished his USC career with FOUR consecutive Team Championships!  Steve won 72 consecutive singles victories after his historic victory today!  He is the FIRST collegiate tennis player to win back-to-back Team Championships and Singles Championships!

Will the (UC)LA Times print a picture of Steve in its sports section tomorrow?

Will the (UC)LA Times publish an article with a separate title about Steve's accomplishments?

NO! and NO!  He'll be lucky to get a mere mention in their ETC. Section.

WHY?  Steve Johnson is a TROJAN, not a Bruin!

Friday, May 25, 2012

Triple BOGEY you, (UC)LA Times!!!

When your beloved Lady Bruins moved into second place after the second day of the NCAA Women's Golf Championships, your sports page (Thursday, 5/24/12) gave the Lady Bruins a large headline and article in the "ETC." section.

When USC's Women of Troy catapulted into second place on the third day of the NCAA Women's Golf Championships, your sports page this morning gave the Women of Troy a headline that was HALF the size of the Bruin's headline and a mere mention of the accomplishment in the "ETC." section.  The article gave more press to the Bruins than the Trojans!

A BLUE Viewpoint

Tomorrow's (UC)LA Times "Sports Viewpoint" will feature at least one letter written by a Bruin about USC's Simione Vehikite.  There will be an insinuation that all Trojans are criminals.   No where will there be a mention of any UCLA athletes that have run afoul of the law.  Some recent UCLA "criminals" that the (UC)LA Times neglected in its coverage are Joshua Shirley, Shaquille Richardson, Paul Richardson, recruit Seantrel Henderson, and Jerime Anderson.  There were no "Sports Viewpoint" letters published about them.

When will the (UC)LA Times BIAS for UCLA over USC ever end?

Double BOGEY you, (UC)LA Times!!

Number #1 seeded USC wins the Women's Central Region NCAA Golf by 25 strokes! Women of Troy Lisa McCloskey tied for the first place medal.   Fellow USC team members, Sophia Popov and Doris Chen finished in the Top Ten.   Does the (UC)LA Times even mention that USC played in the Central Region?  NO!

The (UC)LA Times only reported about the NCAA Women's Golf Western Regional.  Their beloved Lady Bruins tied for first place in that regional.

Will the (UC)LA Times BIAS for UCLA over USC ever end?

Friday, May 11, 2012

BOGEY you, (UC)LA Times!

The (UC)LA Times reported the NCAA Women's Western Regional Golf standings in its "College Golf"  section this morning.  Naturally, UCLA Women's Golf is in this regional.  UCLA was in third place the first day.

USC Women of Troy Golf is competing in the NCAA Women's Central Regional.  USC finished the first day in FIRST PLACE.  Naturally, the (UC)LA Times did not even report the Trojan's scores in their "College Golf" section.

When will the (UC)LA Times BIAS for the Bruins over the Trojans ever end?

Just Wondering....

Just Wondering.....

Congratualtions to the U.C. Irvine Anteaters on winning the National Championship in Men's Volleyball last night at the Galen Center.

"Just Wondering..." if USC had won the title last night if the article written by Gary Klein and the large picture would have been the same.

OR, would there have been NO picture and a small paragraph in the ETC. section, like the ones that the USC Men's Tennis Team received when the Trojans won their THIRD NCAA title in a row on May 24, 2011 AND that the USC Men's Water Polo Team received when the Trojans won their FOURTH NCAA title in a row on December 4, 2011?

"Just Wondering..." Will the negative attitude and BIAS against USC by the (UC)LA Times ever end?

Sunday, April 22, 2012

Three Reasons Why!

The "Three Reasons Why" the (UC)LA Times glorified the Lady Bruin's third place finish yesterday at the NCAA Gymnastics Tournament with a BOLD headline and article, while the same (UC)LA Times merely mentioned the USC Men's Water Polo Team's record setting Fourth NCAA Title in a row in its Monday, 12/5/2011 edition with an "ETC." paragraph and NO BOLD headline are as follows:

  1. The gymnastic Bruins are women, not men.

  2. They are Bruins, not USC Trojans.

  3. The team, that the USC Men's Water Polo Team beat by the score of 7-4 to win their fourth consecutive NCAA Championship, was the (UC)LA Times' beloved UCLA Men's Water Polo Team.

Why Is It?

Why is it?

Why does the "REAL" Los Angeles Times print Gary Klein's article entitled, "A guru's magic touch", on its front page today, while the "REAL" (UC)LA Times sports page seldomly features Mr. Klein's profile articles on its front page?

Gary Klein writes about USC, not UCLA.

Will the bias ever end?

Front Page YEAH! Sports Page NAY!

NAY!

The (UC))LA Times Sports Page is at it again. BIAS! Check out the PAC-12 STANDINGS on page C6 this morning. Their beloved UCLA at 15-11 is listed above Stanford at 18-8 in Men's Basketball. What a farce!

YEAH!

The (UC)LA Times Front Page deserves kudos! Check out the "Column One" article by David Wharton entitled, "Fluid style makes a splash". Mr. Wharton wrote an insightful article about USC Men's and Women's Water Polo Coach, Jovan Vavic. Coach Vavic's teams have won 10 NCAA Titles in 14 years! His Trojan Men just won an unprecedented FOUR NCAA Titles in a row when they defeated UCLA on 12/4/11.

NAY!

The Difference in Legacies

After reading (UC)LA Times Reporter Bill Dwyre's article entitled "Paterno missed cue from Wooden" on Tuesday, January 23, 2012, I agree with and disagree with Mr. Dwyre's premises.

Yes, John Wooden's legacy was more or less untarnished because he out-lived Sam Gilbert. Whereas, Joe Paterno's legacy has been tarnished, and there is no chance to redeem himself since he passed away before Jerry Sandusky.

In disagreement, The (UC)LA Times has not wanted to tarnish John Wooden's legacy over all these years. How? Only one investigative article pertaining to Sam Gilbert was published in the (UC)LA Times after Coach Wooden passed away. Then, nothing more. Why? The (UC)LA Times wants to keep UCLA's image pure.

What if Coach Wooden was a Trojan, not a Bruin?
